  • Are you thinking about becoming Catholic?
  • Are you not baptized but are now seeking a Church family?
  • Are you a member of another Christian faith who is seeking to learn more about the Catholic Church?
  • Are you a baptized Catholic adult, who has not received First Communion or been confirmed?

Many reasons bring us to seek out a church community — a feeling that something is missing, a crisis, a major life change, or the gentle encouragement of a friend or family member. Whatever your reason, we welcome you and look forward to your belonging to our community.

Becoming Catholic is a process that initiates a person into the Christian way of life through:

  • developing a life of prayer, promoting a closer relationship with Christ;
  • growth in knowledge of our Catholic community by participating in activities;
  • reflection on Sacred Scripture, Catholic values and teachings;
  • preparation for the reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

Ask Catholic friends and neighbors about their Church. Go with a Catholic friend, family member or co-worker to Mass. Ask questions!  Call Fr. Len.

REFLECTIONS OF FORMER CANDIDATES:

Mia Cusumano:  "Following my experience, I found a new kind of light and clarity in my everyday life.  I am able to recognize the smaller blessings God gives me every day, leading me to thanking him more frequently and being able to share this light with those around me."

Jefferey Gordon:  "When I received my Confirmation, I felt blessed and happy, I felt like a new person in the Lord.  I could feel the Holy Spirit all over me. I felt even more blessed because I not only have my family but my church family also.  Thank you."

Tom Miller:   "The entire experience at St. Anthony of Padua was extremely rejuvenating.  I was welcomed with open arms after many years of putting off what I always wanted – a spiritual connection with my higher power.  After months of preparing for my Confirmation, it left me feeling at home and at peace, leading me to a wonderful connection with our Lord, Jesus Christ."

Jonathan Rosario:  "I was nervous before going to confession.  I felt vulnerable.  I was so anxious because I’ve never shared this with anyone before.  Once the confession was completed I was so relieved.  The freedom from the guilt that I’ve been holding inside for years gave me the feeling of almost being reborn.  When I received my Communion it felt magical.  I felt the love in the room – how so many strangers that did not know me at all could be so happy for me.  It was a great feeling."
